MR. BEAST REVEALS HE SPENDS $7-8 MILLION PER MONTH

Jimmy Donaldson, aka Mr. Beast, has been on a business-fueled tear recently with the launch of his first Mr. Beast Burger physical location, the expansion of his snack brand Feastables into cookies, and the accomplishment of 100 million followers on his main channel. And just this week, he made a surprise appearance on finance YouTubers Graham Stephan's podcast to share details on the inner workings of his business. Here are the highlights.

$7-8 million

That's how much Mr. Beast estimates he spends per month across his business, including:

  • "A couple hundred thousand a month" on his gaming channel

  • "A couple hundred thousand a month" on his reacts channel

  • "$3-4 million a month" on his main channel

  • "A million or so a month" on Feastables

  • "A million or so a month" on Beast Burger

  • "A couple million a month" on marketing his businesses

Mobile Video Games

Jimmy expects this to be the next extension of his brand, likely stemming from the success of his "Finger on the App" challenge.

"I actually don't do any investing on the side"

Jimmy claimed he reinvests nearly 100% of his profits back into his videos.

Reacting To: Mr. Beast's Business

Is Mr. Beast's success luck or skill? He got lucky that the only thing he cared about growing up, YouTube, grew into the mega-influential platform it is today. But he's also worked relentlessly to hone his skills in content creation, which is the foundation of each expansion business. Heck, the guy said he doesn't even keep a 7-day-a-week schedule. He just works 10 days straight for the entire day, burns out, takes one day off and does it again. So should we all give up our whole lives and work 10-day weeks to pursue content creation excellence???

SIDEMEN CHARITY MATCH RAISES £1 MILLION

In case you missed it, the Sidemen hosted a charity soccer match with a star-studded roster of creators on each team. Not only did they raise £$1 million for charity, but they may have offered a preview of a massive change in the sports industry landscape. Let's dive in.

Who played in the match?

To name a few:

  • KSI

  • Mr. Beast

  • IShowSpeed

How many people watched it?

At its peak, the match had 2.6 million concurrent viewers. For perspective, an NBA game averages 3 million viewers. The 3-hour video on YouTube has 21 million views as of writing.

How was the fundraising done, and who is getting the donation?

Viewers on YouTube had access to a Stripe link where they could donate money. The charities receiving funds are:

  • Teenage Cancer Trust

  • Living Miserably

  • Rays of Sunshine

  • M7E

I saw a bunch of TikToks of some kid doing Ronaldo celebrations, stealing yellow cards from referees, and barking at other players. Who was that?

That was 17-year-old streamer Darren Watkins Jr., aka IShowSpeed, who was easily the most entertaining player in the match, which says a lot when considering who else was on the pitch!

Reacting To: Sidemen Charity Match

Consider this: due to the easy access we have to content, young people can spend their entire day with their favourite creator. Wake up and watch their TikToks, go through the day listening to their podcast, watch their YouTube videos during meals, and have their stream on in the background in the evening. Because of this, people view creators less and less like traditional celebrities and more like close personal friends. And if I told you that all of your closest friends would be playing a soccer game in a stadium of 20,000 people, you'd probably rush to get tickets. So our only question is, will there be a time in the near future where creator-promoted sports are consistently more popular than traditional professional leagues? Time will tell.

DUNKEY LAUNCHES VIDEO GAME PUBLISHER BIGMODE

Jason Gastrow, the widely popular video game reviewer known as Dunkey on his YouTube channel "videogamedunkey" is taking a big step in the growth of his business. Last week he announced the launch of his new company, Bigmode.

What is Bigmode?

Bigmode is the name of the video game publishing company Dunkey is launching alongside his wife Leah.

Why is he doing this?

Aside from obvious reasons (re: money), Dunkey wants to do his part to "lift up and praise the truly inspired works of art in this medium". Essentially, Dunkey intends to leverage his clout to help indie game developers access the resources they need to build their games. You bring the creativity and technical know-how; he brings the connections.

But how much clout does Dunkey have?

Considering he's been creating for over 11 years and still averages 3 million views per video game review... quite a bit.
